My Initiation to the Airborne Riders
In May 2013, a chance encounter with Mr. Amit Sharma (CRC, Airborne) sparked a passion for riding that would change my life. Through a common friend, I expressed my interest in joining the exhilarating world of the Airborne Riders team. One fateful day, I received a call from Amit, inviting me for a joyride. Little did I know that this would be the beginning of an unforgettable journey.
The Thrilling First Ride
The joyride took me through an exhilarating off-road course that led us to the Nahargarh Rescue Center, concluding at the picturesque Akeda Dam. As it was my first experience of off-roading, I felt a mix of excitement and anxiety for my beloved Bullet and myself. Unbeknownst to me, this ride served as a test of my biking capabilities. Upon our finish, I was warmly inducted into the group, marking a significant milestone in my adventure.
The Airborne T-Shirt Achievement
One defining moment for me was when I received my Airborne T-shirt. Mr. Abhishek Singh, affectionately known as Dada, was known for not easily handing out this coveted shirt. After countless follow-ups, I was finally presented with my own black Airborne T-shirt. Today, it's a treasured piece of clothing that I ensure is always packed with me, wherever my travels take me.
Adventure in the Himalayas
Fast forward to 2016; I embarked on a Himalayan expedition led by Amit Sharma (affectionately referred to as Chacha) and Mr. Ajay Arya (nicknamed Airport for his technical prowess). A group of 15 riders took on the daunting task of covering over 5,000 km across five states in a span of just ten days. This experience was nothing short of enlightening as I witnessed firsthand how Chacha and Airport skillfully navigated challenges, allowing me to fully appreciate the breathtaking Himalayan vistas.
Airborne Chapter in Pune
In June 2015, my job compelled me to move to Pune. Despite relocating, I couldn’t resist exploring Pune’s stunning terrain through solo rides. I eventually teamed up with two riders, one of whom was already an Airborne member. We began to organize frequent rides, all the while under Dada's watchful eye. His silent assessments culminated in a remarkable moment when he prompted us to establish an Airborne chapter in Pune.
Building the Pune Chapter
What started with just three riders rapidly grew to eleven, as we collaborated on monthly rides. Our collective determination and passion for riding blossomed into a sturdy community, exploring various paths throughout Maharashtra. The Pune chapter’s journey continues as we keep setting and achieving new goals, fueled by the shared love for two-wheeled adventures and the camaraderie that binds us.
