Madurai’s vibrant markets and the spiritual aura of the temple were enchanting. But Kanyakumari, our ultimate destination, beckoned. As we neared the southern tip, Cyclone VARDAH challenged us. But with grit and determination, we conquered both the cyclone and our destination.
The euphoria of reaching Kanyakumari was indescribable. The rising sun, the vast ocean, and the realization of our achievement made every challenge faced en route worth it. But the journey wasn’t over. Goa awaited, with its beaches, parties, and the promise of relaxation. After rejuvenating in Goa, we began our journey back, covering Pune and finally reaching Jaipur.
Our return was triumphant. The ABRZ team welcomed us like heroes returning from battle. The journey had been epic, covering approximately 8000 Km across 8 major states in just 14 days. We had set two records: 1310 Km non-stop from Surat to Bengaluru and 1400 Km non-stop from Pune to Jaipur.
This ride wasn’t just about distances covered or records set. It was about the bond between riders, the love for our machines, and the spirit of adventure. We, the Airborne Riders, had truly conquered the southern tip of India.
On a crisp December 7th morning, three of us, passionate riders from Jaipur, embarked on a dream journey. Our destination? The southernmost tip of India, is often referred to as the feet of Mother India. As the clock struck 4 A.M., with blessings from Lord Ganesha’s Temple at Moti Doongri and heartfelt goodbyes from our Airborne Team and families, our engines roared to life.
This wasn’t just another ride. It was a challenge, a new direction, and a chance to etch our names in ABR’s annals. From navigating unfamiliar highways, adjusting to varying climates, and dealing with bustling traffic, to understanding the myriad of South Indian dialects, every aspect was an adventure. But for us, the thrill lay in the unknown.
By 5 a.m., we were on the Jaipur NH, with Gujarat’s Surat as our first pit stop. Our strategy was simple: a 20-minute break every 200 km. As we clocked the first 700 km, a roadside Dhaba beckoned. Over a hearty meal, we realized how the journey was already transforming us. Surat was reached by 11 P.M., marking an impressive 900 Km in just 24 hours.
In Surat, while our bodies rested, our minds raced with excitement. The next day, the scenic beauty of Gujarat’s highways tempted us to push our limits. Originally set for Pune, we decided on a bold move: to ride straight to Bengaluru. The journey was exhilarating, but Maharashtra’s bumpy roads tested our mettle. A tea break in Chinchwad, Pune, revived our spirits, and with renewed determination, we set our sights on Bengaluru.
The highways from Pune to Bengaluru were a rider’s dream. Smooth roads, scenic views, and the thrill of the ride By the time we reached Bengaluru, we had not only covered vast distances but also created a treasure trove of memories. After two days of exploring the city, we set out for Madurai, with the historic Meenakshi Amman Temple in our sights.

Starting with this positive note sharing one of the best memory from Abr’z Desert Trip 2020 concluded just before the Covid. We were on the way to Sam dunes and had taken a tea break at Munabao (India’s last railway station, Near LOC). The timing was 06.00 pm and we all were empty stomachs by then as we had been riding for a long time post-brunch in the morning before starting from Barmer. Suddenly our Road captain decided to have dinner over a roadside Dhaba because we hadd to cover another unexplored 180 km in sand dunes.
After discussion with the Dhaba owner, we got to know that resources were limited. He was only having some raw eggs n wheat flour. We were in a fix and wondered who could help us with cooking for so many people as he himself was reluctant. So I sat with him decided to conclude this cooking task. Never knew my culinary skills would come in handy at such a time……. everyone quickly gathered around the Dhaba owner and me to help with minor tasks. Later, we all sat together and enjoyed the meal, and got recharged for the next adventure.
This is something about brotherhood and care we have built over the years. The passion which differentiates you from others.

My 1st Ride as Airborne: In May 2013, I met Mr. Amit Sharma (CRC, Airborne) through a common friend and expressed my interest in joining the Airborne Riders team.
One day he called me and asked me to come for a Joyride. I had no idea, where I was being taken. It was total off-roading to Nahargarh Rescue center and Finishing at Akeda dam. As it was my 1st off-roading experience, I was concerned about my bullet and myself.
I was not told but it was a test, and when we completed the ride, I was inducted into the group.
When I got my Airborne T-Shirt: Dada (Mr. Abhishek Singh) does not give the Airborne T-Shirt easily. I remember I followed up with him a hundred times and then one day, I was given this Airborne T-Shirt. Now, wherever I travel, I make sure this Black Airborne T-shirt is always there in my Bag.
Himalayan Trip 2016: Led by Mr. Amit Sharma aka Chacha (CRC, Airborne) & Mr. Ajay Arya aka Airport (Technical Backbone), a group of 15 riders went on an expedition to the Himalayas. This riding event ran through 5 states and we covered over 5,000 km in 10 days. It was a great learning experience looking at how Chacha & Airport were dealing with the challenges created by both the route and the Team. Since they were handling all the issues, I enjoyed the picturesque beauty of the Himalayas.
Starting of Pune Chapter:
In June 2015 I had to move to Pune due to my Job. But I continued doing Solo sorties to explore the areas in Pune. During this time, I was accompanied by 2 more riders (1 of them was an ABR already) and we started organizing frequent rides in Pune. Dada (Mr. Abhishek Singh) was observing us during this period, he did not say anything but quietly watched us from the distance. I believe, he was testing our commitment and seriousness about the rides we were doing, and one day he asked us to start an Airborne Chapter in Pune. We continued riding to various locations in Pune and soon we were 11 riders strong in Pune Chapter.
Pune Chapter has set a target of doing 1 ride each month and so, far has covered a lot of places in Maharashtra.

Well, all rides have some memories worth saving in the gallery but My first long ride with the group i.e. Desert Trip 2015 was most memorable. It was something I was aspiring for years on a Bullet but couldn’t execute. The experience was awesome as long rides test a rider on many grounds like it throws challenges, demand coordination, gift us great fun moments and outcome of all this is great bonding with your machine & fellow riders and gradually u develop a family-like bonding with them.
Need not say anything about the Himalayan trip because it’s every Royal Enfield rider’s dream that turned into reality in 2016 with Airborne Riders.
Apart from the fun and freedom that I had in all these rides the other most important thing is the discipline that is followed here because if this is lost then all good ingredients of the ride will get compromised and the great part is that every rider in the Airborne family carries discipline and group values as his personal responsibility.
Cheers!!
